cuneyt97 (TechnicalUser) May 20, 2003 Hi all, After input of command TRREP , TRREP:MENO=0,DATE=2003-05-17&&2003-05-19,PERIOD=2; i get the print out, like the one below.. Does anybody tell the traff parameter. What does it
mean? my aim is , to get the trunk utilization
values, such as "Used trunks are %50 of all trunks ..." etc.
Is it possible?
duvel (IS/IT--Manageme) May 20, 2003 Traff parameter means the traffic intensity in Erlang. cuneyt97 (TechnicalUser)
May 20, 2003 Yes i see, but what does
this mean? For exp., between 9-00 and 9-15 tha traff value is 1.43 between 9-15 and 9-30 it's 1.30
although the # of outg. calls
are equal at these period. Do you know the formula of it? Which erlang is it? B, C? Can i get the value of max busy trunk on the route at that period? Thanks
for the responses... duvel (IS/IT--Manageme) May 20, 2003 If you want to find out which trunks carry most traffic , try initiating the traffic measurement for the
particular trunks instead of the whole route ? Sorry about Erlang , don't know to much about it
myself either . Will try find out some more. Until then , Anyone out there knowing some formulas ? jerommeke (TechnicalUser) May 20, 2003 1 Erlang means that over
all the selected lines, you've used one the whole time. For example when the measurement window is 15
minutes, 1 Erlang
equals 1 call during 15 minutes or 1 Erlang equals 15
calls during 1 minute or 1 Erlang equals 5 calls
during 3 minutes in the posted trrep :
11 calls have consumed 2.22 * 15
= 33.3 minutes of 1 line. or the average calltime
= 33.3 / 11 = ~3 minutes cuneyt97 (TechnicalUser)
May 20, 2003 thanks for the explanation... Is there a way to learn
how many trunks of a specific route are used at a period (Average or
maximum...) to Duvel: We have 10 sites and approximately
40 or 50 routes to be monitored and reported in Excel. Is there any tool that
you know for monitoring the trunk usage?Or how is it
possible to monitor some trunks of the routes?Think
that i've an ISDN port and want to learn how many
calls are handled by the first 10 trunk of the route.. How will it help me as a conclusion? THX. duvel (IS/IT--Manageme) May 20, 2003 The tool using excel
analyzing traffic data from MD110 is PPM (a part of DNA). It is an excel
macro. But first initate traffic measurment for particular trunks with TRTLI:..... This can more easily be done with PDM (another DNA
application) Duvel jerommeke (TechnicalUser) May 21, 2003 The Erlang value is always
the average within a given the timewindow. The
busiest hour is used to calculate the needed trunk capacity with acertain amount of blocking. Much more background available on the net, search
for "+Erlang +calculate" using a search
engine. When using more trunks for one destination, the
values of OFLO and CONG are also very usable. Both indicate a number of
Calls/Attempts OFLO Calls are kind of good news, trunk is full but
alternative trunk is used. CONG is bad news , trunk is
full and no alternative trunk is available. BLO are the blocked trunk individuals. Values OFLOW and CONG are not set for incomming calls, because the send systems
determines which channel is used to send a call to the PABX. Reporting
must be provided bij the sending system (Telco). kind regards. LINK TO THIS FORUM!
